Research and Teaching Participation
Our practice actively promotes and participate in clinical research. On your patient registration form, a consent is requested for your permission to use any valuable de-identified clinical data generated from your condition for medical research. Your participation is appreciated, especially if your condition is cancerous, as it is the only way to promote advances in the fight against cancer.
Medical students may also be observing at your consultation and subsequent hospital admissions, as Dr Tan teaches medical students from the University of Western Australia and University of Notre Dame. Your permission to allow medical students to be present is appreciated.
If you have any objections to the above, please let our staff know early so we may organise alternative arrangements.

Initial Consultation
Dr. Jason Tan sees patients for private consultations on Tuesdays and Fridays, in his Consulting Rooms at Suite 20, WOMEN Centre. Surgeries are performed on Tuesday afternoons or Wednesdays at SJOG Hospital Subiaco or Hollywood Private Hospital.
Dr. Jason Tan is a Gynaecological Oncologist trained in the treatment of pre-cancerous and cancerous conditions. Patients with these conditions will be given preference for earlier appointment times over those with benign conditions. Due to his commitment to not disadvantage patents with malignant conditions, he prefers not to treat benign conditions, unless if they are complicated, and a similar surgical procedure is not offered by a General Specialist Gynaecologist.
To make an appointment with Dr. Tan, please post, fax (08) 9381 2006 or email admin@gynonc.com.au your referral to Dr. Tan to assess, and then one of our friendly staff members will call you to book an appointment.
Please bring the below info to the appointment:
If you had been required to have certain tests prior to your appointment, please ensure that these are completed a minimum of 2 days before your appointment with Dr. Tan. This will enable him to make appropriate clinical decisions based on the results available.
If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please notify us at least 24 hours prior to your appointment on (08) 9468 5188.

Post-Surgery Follow-up Consultation
It is important to have a follow-up consultation after your surgery. This will normally be arranged by our Practice Manager, Tammy, at the same time that your operation is initially organised – and it will usually take place 6-8 weeks after your surgery.
If you have had any tests or biopsies performed during your operation, your pathology results will usually be available on a Friday, within 1.5 weeks after your surgery. Dr. Tan or Jennifer will call you to inform you of the results and a letter will also be sent to your GP, detailing the results and recommendations for further management and treatment. We are happy to send patients a copy of their pathology results as well.
